Laser engraving on aluminium frames creates a precise, contrasting mark in the anodised or powder-coated surface. The laser removes the surface finish to reveal the bare aluminium beneath, creating a silver mark on darker-coloured frames (black, dark grey, bronze) or a frosted appearance on silver and champagne frames. MDF Backing Board Engraving

Engraving on the MDF backing board is a cost-effective alternative to frame-surface engraving. The backing board is visible from the rear of the frame and is an ideal location for engraving production information, edition numbers, artist statements, certificates of authenticity or sponsor recognition text. Backing board engraving is popular in the art print industry, where editions are numbered and signed, and in corporate award framing, where a certificate text is engraved on the reverse.
